Our wines are made possible by friendships formed over many years, with winegrowers whose distinctive vineyards inspire us. We make wine and music, by hand and heart, humbly lending our imagination, attention, and technique, in a dance with Mother Nature. We make one small lot single vineyard pinot noir each vintage, just the two of us. We hope our wine will delight you.

2022 Pinot Noir
Klopp Ranch
Russian River Valley
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Russian River Valley, the Klopp family’s vineyard has produced some of the region’s most revered Pinot Noir since its planting in 1997.
We are thrilled with this release for its balance of fresh
bright fruit with length, nuance, and elegance. Fragrant with cherry and allspice, its palate unfolds in harmonious layers of cherry, brambly raspberry, and summer truffle, finishing long with subtle notes of spice
and black tea. Harvested September 9, 10% whole cluster, 50% new French oak, 190 cases made.

Our adventures in wine are a treasure of pleasure and inspiration. Getting into a cellar or vineyard with a winemaker wherever we are, grounds us in that place and time like nothing else. Perspectives on the seasons and soils, and tales of familiar challenges and triumphs bring laughter and a sense of connection. As scrappy creatives, we thrive on the openness and insights of other winemakers as much as we love the direct sensory experience of tasting with them.

While Wow and Flutter is firmly grounded in here and now, it is inspired by impressions that have followed us home across oceans and over time, especially Burgundy and more specifically Chambolle Musigny and Gevrey Chambertin. We have made and marketed a lot of wine for other people, and we are excited that this time it’s for us – and for you. – John and Jen
